The tradition continues! This 3-day annual festival celebrates a local folk cuisine that sounds funny but tastes great! Burgoo! Live music, arts and crafts vendors, carnival rides and more all in historic downtown Lawrenceburg.

Keith Arthur Wecker (b. 1983) is a composer, improvisor, and multi-instrumentalist using technology to explore the timbral and temporal properties of granular synthesis in the creation of electroacoustic music. Keith focuses on bringing the in-between sounds to the forefront through a layering-intensive process, creating rich sonic textures that evoke a meditative environment for the listener to immerse themselves in.

His personal approach to sound creation is highlighted by the diversity of the acts he has shared the stage with (Tim Hecker, Clark, Sumac, Thundercat, Wolf Eyes, Six Organs of Admittance, Goblin, Lori Goldston, and Sun Araw) as well as participating in projects of Anthony Braxton and Glenn Branca. Keith has had his music featured across North America, including multiple appearances at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, New Forms Festival, MOXSonic, VU Symposium, the International Computer Music Conference, NYCEMF, and Improvisors Summit PDX.

Keith maintains a rigorous dedication to learning through both traditional and nontraditional educational formats. As a recent graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where he holds a Master of Arts in Music Technology, his work has been featured through his participation in several artistic residencies, including Lobe Sound Studios in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Lightbox Performance in Detroit, Michigan, and the Reforesters Laboratory in New York City, NY. Keith is enrolled at the University of Florida, where he will begin his PhD studies in composition and technology in the fall of 2026.

Gleaning Housing is hosting the second annual Running Pumpkin 5k. Bring a pumpkin or if you are feeling more festive dress in your best pumpkin costume. We will provide pumpkins for anyone that donated $20 or more to Gleanings Housing. Gleanings is a nonprofit that builds affordable rental housing in Lexington, Ky.

Snacks and drinks will provide for all race participants.

All are welcome for a fun fall run/walk.

Treevangelist will cover: - how to choose the right tree for your location - what to look for when you purchase a tree from a nursery - the difference between the common tree “types” available for purchase - how to plant a tree - how to care for a tree We will end with a tree planting so you can get your hands dirty and put into practice some of what we talked about. You may take a tree home to plant so you can experience the lifelong benefits trees provide to you, the community and the world. Spanish interpretation available if requested by October 10.

Join Good Shepherd Catholic School for its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Happy Jack's, 966 Hickman Hill Road, Frankfort.

The festival is open to the public and offers family-friendly fun for all ages. Admission is $15 per child or $40 for families with three or more children. Adults and children age 2 and under are admitted free.

This community event will bring together music, creativity, and classic fall activities for children and families of all ages. Benchmark Family Services is hosting a Trunk or Treat. This Trunk Or Treat will have many activities. We will be having booths, food trucks, fire trucks, games and LOTS OF CANDY!!! We are looking to support local community groups and grow a relationship with the community and recognize our program!

Join Earendel Theatricals for a staged reading of Arian Moayed's THE COURTROOM, presented as a fundraiser for immigrant legal aid in the Catholic Diocese of Lexington. The performance will take place at 7:00 PM in Hehman Hall, Cathedral of Christ the King, followed by a brief Q&A with the director and representatives of diocesan migrant services, Community Response Coalition of KY, and the New Americans Initiative.

Tickets are pay-what-you-will (starting at $1 online and free at the door). 100% of ticket proceeds goes to the Catholic Diocese of Lexington's immigrant legal aid fund.

Elizabeth Keathley, a Filipina immigrant, entered the United States on a K-3 visa to live with her husband, a U.S. citizen. When applying for her driver’s license at an Illinois DMV, Keathley inadvertently said “yes” to the form question of registering to vote, and subsequently received a voter registration card in the mail. With this card, Keathley voted in a midterm congressional election, violating U.S. election law. When the mistake was discovered at her citizenship hearings, the Department of Homeland Security ordered her deportation. Elizabeth Keathley’s case went from Chicago Immigration Court all the way to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Created from verbatim transcripts, THE COURTROOM is an uncanny examination of the U.S. immigration system and one woman at its mercy.

After each show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli, and “Cheap Art” – books, posters, postcards, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale.
